Public to have its say on utilities

(RECAP: Later this month the Culpeper Town Council and Culpeper County Board of Supervisors will hold a joint meeting to receive public comment on an executive summary on their proposed agreement on boundary adjustment and utility issues. Town Manager Jeff Muzzy told the council Tuesday evening during its regular monthly meeting that the public hearing will take place Thursday, Jan. 20, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Daniel Technology Center .)

(RECAP: The federal budget and deficit are expected to be high policy priorities in the 112 th Congress as many new Republican members focus on spending cuts. The House of Representatives started the first day of its new session adopting a rules package that allows its leadership to use new methods to control spending. These rules changes will apply to 12 appropriations bills for the fiscal year that began October 1, 2010 that the last Congress did not pass. NLIHC is monitoring Congressional developments on HUD appropriations and will issue a “Call to Action” when advocate calls to Capitol Hill will be most effective.)

The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, Corporation for Enterprise Development, National Center for Healthy Housing, and National Housing Trust joined NLIHC as co-signers.
