US Home Prices Show Signs of Revival

House Passes Scaled Down Tax Bill; NHTF Survives

(RECAP: The House of Representatives passed a scaled-down version of H.R. 4213, the American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act of 2010. Fortunately, the funding for the NHTF remained after the bill was cut to $115 billion. The vote was 215-204.)

HUD Documents “Worst Case Needs” in 2007

(RECAP: HUD issued its twelfth “Worst Case Housing Needs” in the last week of May. The report states that there were 5.91 million households, comprising 12.97 million people, with worst case housing needs in 2007, based on analysis of American Housing Survey data. HUD is required by statute to report to Congress on “worst case housing needs” every two years.)

Proposed Sustainable Communities Planning Grant NOFA Rating Factor Forms

 HUD's Office of Sustainable Housing and Communities submitted to the Office of Management and Budget proposed forms for rating applications for the $100 million Sustainable Communities Planning Grant Program. A Notice of Funding Availability has not been issued yet; however, in anticipation of publishing a NOFA, proposed “Rating Factor Forms” were submitted to OMB for public review and comment on a seven-day emergency basis. Comments are due June 1.)
